扁桃枝とは
・「 扁桃動脈 ( tonsillar artery ) 」という呼称を用いているサイト (英文) も見受けられる。その場合、上行口蓋動脈から分岐して上咽頭収縮筋を貫通する枝を「扁桃枝」としているようである。「 日本人体解剖学 」ではこの扁桃枝の解説は見られず、上行口蓋動脈から分岐して枝に扁桃枝という呼称も用いている。

1 . 上行口蓋動脈の少し先（前方）で顔面動脈より分岐する。
2 . 内側翼突筋と茎突舌筋の間を上行口蓋動脈とほぼ平行するように上行する。
3 . 上咽頭収縮筋を貫通し、口蓋扁桃および舌根に至る。
