弓状動脈（足） とは
・ もともとはその形状（ 弓状に走行している ）から名付けられた動脈で腎臓にも同名の動脈がある。
・「 船戸和弥のHP 」では、弓状動脈を足背動脈の枝のような扱っているが、「 日本人体解剖学 」では枝のような扱いになっているようには思えない。そもそも詳しい解説が見られない。
【 分岐する位置に関して 】
弓状動脈が足背動脈から分岐する位置だが、「 船戸和弥のHP 」では「 外側足根動脈よりも少し遠位で 」、「 Wikipedia」でも同じように「slightly anterior to the lateral tarsal artery 」となり、外側足根動脈の分岐する位置と弓状動脈の分岐する位置がそれほど離れていないような解説になっている。
ただ、インターネットで画像検索をかけると、そのイラストのほとんどが弓状動脈が足背動脈が2終枝に分岐する直前に分岐するものとなる。よって、ここでは弓状動脈の分岐位置を「足背動脈が2終枝に分岐する少し手前」とした。

「 弓状動脈が充分に発達して上記全ての背側中足動脈は足底の動脈から供給される。」
